Hello, fellow preppers! Today we’re diving into an unboxing of Nutristore’s freeze-dried food products. As many of us living in small spaces know, finding high-quality, long-lasting food storage solutions can be a challenge. That’s why freeze-dried foods are such a game-changer, and Nutristore is a brand that has earned a reputation for excellence in this area.

Nutristore Freeze-Dried Food
The freeze dried food in this unboxing is from the Nutristore Company. One thing I appreciate about their products is that they’re made in the USA, and are top quality.
According to various sources, such as Healthline, freeze-dried foods retain most of their nutritional value, offer a longer shelf life, and are lightweight and compact – ideal for those of us with limited space. So, let’s jump right in and see what’s in the box!
Nutristore Freeze Dried Food Packaging

The first thing that I noticed is that the Nutristore packaging is minimal – which is actually a good thing! Notice how tightly the cans fit into the box.
What I like about this is that the cans don’t roll around inside of the box during shipment. This is important all the time, but especially when it comes to freeze dried food since it naturally crumbles. Too much rolling round during shipment could result in powdered freeze dried food. And while powdered freeze dried food is still just as nutritious, unless you have a good reason to powder it, it’s more appetizing if it’s whole.
Another advantage to the tight fit is that if you choose to store the cans in the box, the box won’t take up any extra space in storage. Note how even the lids of the cans are up near the top of the box. If you’re prepping in a small space, like me, every little inch counts, so I’m pleased with how compact everything is.
The only thing in the box (besides the cans) was the packing slip, so no waste there either.
The 6 Items I Ordered – and Why
As you can see from the first image in this post, there are 6 #10 cans of Nutristore Freeze-Dried food (Amazon) in the box.
I’m always focused on storing a wide variety of food in my pantry, so that if the you- know-what hits the fan, I’ll be able to prepare balanced meals. With that in mind, I chose 2 cans of meat, 2 cans of veggies, and 2 cans of fruit.
Nutristore Freeze Dried Chicken and Beef

First up, we have Freeze-Dried Chicken Dices (Amazon). High in protein and versatile, these can be used in anything from stir-fries to soups. Just rehydrate them with a bit of water, and you’re good to go.
Next, we’ve got Freeze-Dried Beef Dices (Amazon). Like the chicken, they’re a great source of protein and can be added to stews or casseroles after rehydration, providing a hearty and nutritious component to your meals.

I plan to use both the freeze dried beef and chicken in meals in jars. Yum!
Nutristore Freeze-Dried Broccoli and Butternut Squash

Moving on to the veggies, we’ve got Freeze-Dried Broccoli (Amazon) and Freeze-Dried Butternut Squash. These nutrient-packed vegetables can be quickly rehydrated and thrown into a variety of dishes, from salads to stir-fries, or even eaten as a healthy snack.
I’m especially looking forward to making butternut squash soup. Yum!

Nutristore Freeze-Dried Blueberries and Raspberries

Last but not least, we have the Freeze-Dried Blueberries (Amazon) and Freeze-Dried Raspberries. (Amazon) These fruits are perfect for adding a burst of flavor to your morning cereal, or even rehydrated and baked into muffins or pancakes. Plus, they’re a sweet and healthy snack straight out of the can! One thing I’m really looking forward to trying is making raspberry jam with the freeze dried raspberries.

In conclusion, Nutristore’s freeze-dried products (Amazon) offer a fantastic solution for long-term food storage, especially for those of us working with small spaces. They’re compact, have a shelf life of 25 years or more, and retain much of their original nutritional value1. Moreover, they provide a variety of meal options, ensuring you don’t have to compromise on taste or nutrition in your quest for practicality.

All in all, I’m pleased with both the Nutristore products and practices, such as manufacturing their products in the U.S., quality products, and minimal packaging.
