Before purchasing it myself, I skimmed through the more than 12,000 (!) reviews on Amazon. The average review rating is 4.5 stars, and while the majority of the reviews are positive, as is to be expected with such a large number of reviews, there are a handful of negative reviews as well. I’ll share both what people love about this electric mason jar vacuum sealer, and what people had issues with. And then finally, I’ll share my own personal experience with the LOVE MOTION Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer.

⚠️ What to Watch Out For

Like any product, not everyone was happy with it. Here are the most common complaints:
- Can be tricky with regular-mouth jars — some users say it’s hit-or-miss or requires multiple tries. (I’ll share my own experience further down, so keep reading!)
- Takes 30–40 seconds per seal — not ideal for large batches.
- Doesn’t auto shut off — you’ll need to press the button again to stop it.

🙋♀️ Who This Product Is Great For
- Preppers who use mason jars for food storage.
- People with small kitchens who want a space-saving vacuum solution.
- Those looking to extend the shelf life of freeze-dried goods, grains, herbs, and snacks, and refrigerated items such as jarred salads and fresh fruit.
- Anyone tired of dragging out a full-size vacuum sealer for a few jars.

💬 My Initial Impressions
I primarily use wide-mouth jars, so the reported issues with regular-mouth compatibility aren’t a deal-breaker for me. I love the compact design and that it doesn’t require separate jar attachments like the FoodSaver handheld sealer.
My only hesitation is how long it will last — only time will tell. But the price point is good, and because of that I feel that I’ll at least get my money’s worth out of it.
Testing Out the Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer

Reading the reviews and hearing what others had to say about the LOVE MOMENT Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer is good, but before writing this article I wanted to test it out myself. Since there were some negative reviews specifically about using this vacuum sealer with regular mouth jars, I was especially interested in seeing how it worked for me on regular mouth jars.

Note that as I mentioned above, I mainly use wide-mouth jars anyway, but especially for this review, I wanted some first hand experience using this vacuum sealer with both types of jars.
Since I didn’t have any freshly dehydrated food to vacuum seal, I just grabbed some grains to test this on. First, I filled up both a regular mouth and wide mouth jar, to test it out.

First I used this mason jar vacuum sealer on the wide-mouth jar, and it worked perfectly fine. I was able to lift up the jar by the lid, without it coming lose.

Next, I tested the regular mouth mason jar. Again, I filled it with grains, up to the neck of the jar, used the regular mouth adaptor, and ran it for about 40 seconds.

I was pleased to see that even the regular mouth jar sealed perfectly fine on the first try, and again I was able to pick it up by the lid without it coming lose.

My Final Thoughts on This Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer
So far I’ve been impressed with the LOVE MOMENT Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer. It is super easy to operate – much more so than the handheld FoodSaver mason jar vacuum sealer that I’ve previously used.
I found it easy to attach the vacuum sealer to the jar, and I love that it is hands free operation; once you push the button, you don’t need to keep holding the button down. This is one way it’s different and better than the FoodSaver option. With the FoodSaver handheld vacuum sealer, you have to stand there and press down on it the whole time you’re using it, which can be a bit tedious.
The only thing I don’t like about it is that other than listening to it, there is no way to know when it’s finished. Now granted, you can listen for a change in pitch, but I wasn’t able to discern much difference in how it sounded. Note however that I had the same problem with the FoodSaver. Your ears may be more discerning. :)
Want an easier way to vacuum seal mason jars? This compact, cordless vacuum sealer works with both wide and regular mouth jars—no bulky machine or hoses needed!
🫙 Great for food storage, preppers, and small kitchens. I tested it myself and am happy with how it worked.
👉 Check It Out on AmazonI did experiment with this on other jars, some partially filled with food, and some filled to the brim. In all cases, I ran it for 40 seconds, and in all cases it worked fine. Generally speaking, the more full a jar, the less air there is to remove, and technically you won’t have to run it as long. Overtime, I’ll probably experiment with running it for less than 40 seconds to see how it goes. But I’d rather run it a bit longer than needed and get a good seal.
The bottom line is that I’m glad I got the LOVE MOTION Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer. It does make the job of vacuum sealing mason jars so much easier, and because of that, I’ll be more likely to reseal jars each time I remove some of the contents. This will lead to my dehydrated and other foods lasting longer, which is always a good thing.

Removing Lids Once They Are Vacuum Sealed

One last thing that I wanted to share is that this vacuum sealer created such a tight seal that I had a hard time removing the lids once they were vacuum sealed. Quite awhile back I invested in the Cookwise Mason Jar Opener (Amazon) for opening my home-canned foods. So I grabbed it, and was able to easily open the vacuum sealed jars.
